Dear Staff of VGM,

A Blessed New Year to you! Although it may not be "happy" or "easy", if it is blessed by our Heavenly Father, we have nothing to fear. These past months have brought some big changes and difficult trials to us, but our hearts are full of gratitude for the encouragement of God's family, which includes the faithful gifts from Village Gospel Mission.

As I write this, Wei Pa Pa has a new residence -- the San Juan Care Center right here in Anacortes. On November 2, his back pain became so severe that he required on the site medical exams and treatment, and x-rays showed a compression fracture in the lower spine, plus three poorly-cushioned discs, degenerative arthritis, etc. It seems that after 89 years, the "temple" God gave him is beginning to wear out! We are so thankful however, that his mind is still clear, his memory good, and his spirit beautiful. He needs a lot of care, but his prayer life continues wherever he is, and he is a blessing to us all.

My health (Wei Ma Ma) is giving me increasing challenges as the Parkinson's gradually progresses. Stress affects all the symptoms, and there are many times when I find it difficult to walk without help. So far I can still drive, and am able to continue living here in this "lower half of a house" we have rented for three years. The house is up for sale, but until a buyer comes who will pay the price the owners are asking, I, along with our little Shih-tzu dog Sammi, continue to be comfortably settled here. We have family members nearby to call on.

Now that Wei Pa Pa is at the Nursing Home, the two years of insurance we have bought will help a lot in paying expenses. In the meantime, we need to plan for the time when he will go onto Medicaid, and a lawyer has told us we should ask VGM from now on to write the monthly check to Florence Webster, using my name only, although of course it will be used for both of us. Would you please ask her to do that?

We praise God for all He is doing these days in the villages of Taiwan, and for the faithful workers He has called and enabled to work in these difficult places which were unreached with the gospel for so long. We are blessed to have had a part in it all, and even now to receive the monthly checks, an unexpected provision from our Father who cares about every detail of our lives!

We pray He will richly bless and lead you in this coming year, and perhaps before the year is over we will meet together around His throne!! "Come quickly, Lord Jesus!" First though, we pray that many more will hear the good news and be gathered into His family.

新年快樂！既或不是很快樂或很容易，但只要就我們天父祝福的，就無所可懼。這幾個月，帶給我們一些大改變及試煉，但我們哀心感謝鄉福及各方神家庭的鼓勵。

魏爸爸已搬到聖元療養院，十一月二日X光顫示他的脊椎下半有壓縮性斷裂，三片軟骨磨損，及退化性關節炎。看來在八十九年之後，神給他的『聖殿』開始磨損了。感謝神，他頭腦和記性仍很清楚，靈裡美善。他雖處處需人照顧，但禱告生活依舊，是眾人的祝福。

我(魏媽媽)的柏金森症益趨嚴重，有時必須人扶才能走路。我還可開車，仍繼續住在租了三年房子的一樓。屋主想賣房，但直到他可賣到他想要的價錢，我可繼續住。我有小狗陪伴，也有家人住在附近。

我們買的兩年保險在付魏爸爸療養院的費用上很有幫助。但需打算他開始使用低收入健保時的費用。律師要我請鄉福將以後的捐款寄到我名下。

讚美主在台灣鄉村的聖工，及他賜能力的忠心僕人們。神祝福我們在其中有份，也到如今還按月收到支票，神照顧我們到最細節，是我們未所料及的。

願神在這新的一年裡豐富的祝福帶領你們，也許年終之前我們就能在他寶座前相會。『主基督快來罷！』讓我們禱求，更多靈魂會聽到福音歸入祂的家。
